Clair Obscur Sweeps at the 2025 Golden Joystick Awards
The 43rd yearly Golden Joystick Awards unfolded on Thursday, and with a remarkable show, Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 claimed the title of the biggest winner. The breakout role-playing game from Sandfall Interactive earned the coveted Top Game award, along with accolades for Superb Storytelling and Best Visual Design.
Adding to the studio's success, its gifted performers also received personal awards. Jennifer English received Outstanding Lead Performance for her portrayal as Maelle, while Ben Starr took home Best Supporting Actor for his role as Verso. Furthermore, Sandfall Interactive the studio was named Best Development Team. In total, Clair Obscur and its creative team won 7 awards during the event.
Other standout winners included Ghost of Yōtei, which was awarded Outstanding Audio and Best Console Game, and Hollow Knight: Silksong, honored with Outstanding Independent Game and PC Game of the Year. Worth mentioning, the bulk of Golden Joystick Awards are voted on by the gamers, with only four categories—Critics' Pick, Rising Star, Lifetime Achievement, and Streamer Selection—judged by experts.
