David Walliams lost his contract with book publisher.
Prolific writer for children and entertainer David Walliams has been dropped by his publisher HarperCollins UK, as confirmed by the firm.
An official for the company commented: "Upon deliberation, and following the appointment of its new CEO, HarperCollins UK has decided not to publish any new titles by David Walliams."
Reports indicate that the conclusion was made after an inquiry regarding allegations of conduct deemed unsuitable involving female individuals.
The company declined to specify the specific rationale behind the move, adding: "We refrain from speaking about internal matters."
An Illustrious Writing Journey
Walliams stands as a most successful children's authors, having sold over six tens of millions of copies globally in dozens of tongues.
The debut children's novel from Walliams, *The Boy in the Dress*, was released through HarperCollins back in 2008.
A number of his books, such as *Gangsta Granny* and *Billionaire Boy*, have subsequently been turned into television films.
He has published more than 40 books combined, which features a Christmas book named *Santa & Son*, which was released through HarperCollins in October.
Television and Literature
His initial claim to fame came on the broadcast sketch program *Little Britain* and has additionally received National Television Awards for his work as a judge on *Britain's Got Talent*.
He received an OBE back in 2017 in recognition of his work for charity and the arts.
This move occurs subsequent to the selection of Kate Elton as HarperCollins UK's new chief executive last fall.
