Esteemed Actor Pat Finn, Known For Roles in The Middle and Friends, Passes Away at 60 Years Old.
US entertainer Finn, who was seen in iconic programs such as "Friends", Seinfeld and The Middle, has succumbed at 60 years old.
The skilled improv artist died at home in LA on Monday having undergone cancer treatment from 2022 onward, per news outlets.
"He never met a stranger - just potential friends he had yet to meet," his relatives shared in a announcement.
They added that he had "embraced life completely - with joy and exuberance".
A Notable TV Career
His debut TV appearance was on a show starring George Wendt in 1995, where he appeared as the titular character's brother.
He also had a regular part on "Murphy Brown" from 1995 to 1997.
He starred as a party host named Joe Mayo in "Seinfeld" in 1998, portraying a host known to delegate tedious tasks to his guests.
In the end of the 90s and start of the 2000s, he made guest appearances on several hit series, like:
- The King of Queens
- "Friends"
- "That '70s Show"
- House, M.D.
His most famous role for his portrayal of Bill Norwood in The Middle, featuring across eight series between 2011 and 2018.
His film credits are "It's Complicated" and Santa Paws 2: The Santa Pups (2012).
Beyond the Screen
Away from his television work, Finn was an improv performer and served as an educator at the University of Colorado, where he was a faculty member.
He was part of a comedy group of six named "Beer Shark Mice".
"Finn guided, supported, and advised countless students during his career and it's nearly impossible to find someone anywhere who has anything negative to say about him," his relatives stated.
In a tribute, peer actor Richard Kind said there was "no kinder, gentler, funnier, grounded individual you could encounter".
"Always positive, assisting others to improve and be funnier. A wonderful father and man," Kind wrote online.
Pat Finn is leaves behind his spouse Donna, three children, and his parents and siblings.
