Two-time heavyweight champion Joshua Discharged from Hospital in Lagos Following Tragic Road Accident

Olympic gold medalist Anthony Joshua has left the medical facility, officials in Lagos announced on Wednesday night. The fighter was caught in a vehicular crash outside Lagos on the 29th of December, a devastating event that claimed the lives of two of his close associates.

Recovering from Minor Injuries

The sports star had remained in the hospital while healing from his light wounds, his promoter had said on Monday. A government official, Gbenga Omotoso, confirmed in an update online that Joshua was judged healthy enough to leave and heal privately.

“Anthony and his mother were at the funeral home in Lagos this afternoon to pay their final respects to his two friends who passed away as they were being prepared for repatriation,” the official remarked.

Remembering the Victims

The victims of the crash were confirmed to be Latif Ayodele, a personal trainer, and Sina Ghami, a strength and conditioning coach. It was also noted that the champion was filled with sorrow and deeply emotional over the tragic loss of his two dear friends.”

His release from the hospital arrives after the sports world offered sympathy for the fighter in the wake of the terrible crash.
