Vince Zampella, a Gaming Pioneer, Has Died in a California Vehicle Accident
The visionary game developer, the mind behind the globally famous first-person shooter Call of Duty, has died in a vehicle crash in Los Angeles, California aged 55.
Zampella's death was verified by Electronic Arts, which owns Respawn Entertainment, a game studio which he helped establish.
The influential industry figure passed away following his car crashed and caught fire on a highway in LA on this past Sunday, US media outlets report.
"This is an unimaginable loss, and we stand with Vince's loved ones, his loved ones, and everyone impacted by his work," a representative from Electronic Arts commented.
